Waking up with the alarm at 6:50am after getting to bed at 2am could be a struggle for most of us. In fact, I think according to my sleep app, I managed just over 3 hours of shut eye in the end.
With eyes like Piss holes in the snow. The doorbell rang and my lift to Bugle Call was awaiting my presence. Jumping in the car with a box full of models with a few of them ready for the Bugle call competition.
Neil, my chauffeur for the day, was going to put one of his Busts into the competition too! He has painted a bust of Major Richard Winters from Band of Brothers fame. It’s a delightful piece of art.
The show is based at a school just in Nailsea. Plenty of scale model clubs from around the area and outside, attend showing off some fabulous displays. Again the credit card gets a hammering with a good range of dealers selling everything from New scale model kits to Humbrol precision cement… OK, I lie, there was no humbrol..
Airfix Bundle. 4 kits for £124.99 Click here https://prf.hn/l/RlbEBje
Bugle call has a slightly different feel to a traditional scale model show as the hosts are Bristol’s British Model Soldier Society, so lots of busts and figure painting being discussed and displayed. Its a delightful show and this being my first time here, had a fantastic time. Isca scale model club won best in show for Club display. 3D Gizmo was there showing off his 3d printed models, he had a dingo I am hoping to review and build soon. I did buy a 16th scale resin figure from him to paint up as this show has got my interest in figure painting going.
One of my favourite Dioramas on the day was this Scott of the Antarctic work of art. Marcus White of Diorama Art. He has produced a bit of a stunner. I’ve added a video of it here. Checkout his facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/Marcus.White105

I am in the process of editing a video of the footage I recorded of the day and will post it live on Youtube soon. Keep an eye out for it, (EDIT : VIDEO IS BELOW)
I recommend those living within a couple of hours drive of Nailsea, Bristol, to keep your diary free for 2024 and pop along to this lovely little model show.
Bit of a short one this week but I will be back next week with more thoughts on my Scale Modelling Journey,
BTW I got a Highly Commended for My 1/48 Bearcat I entered into the competition. And my mate Neil, He won a Bronze for his Dick..

Nice one and recognised the guy in your first picture, he is an old school friend, still lives local I bumped into him at the Tank Museum model show working on his Churchill.
Impressive Mo's, congrats on the award for the Bearcat, but I am afraid that we must doff our cap to your mate Neil for achieving a bronze award for his dick, well impressed lol
